Nothing is colder than death. Or is it…
In Dead Wrong, the third book in the continuing mystery series featuring reporter Samantha Church, Samantha is back and turns her attention to helping Abby Love, a young funeral home employee who has come to her with claims that the mortuary is involved in illegally harvesting body parts.
Abby claims that funeral home employees and others with access to the recently deceased are profiting from the dead by secretly dismembering corpses, taking tissues, organs and non-organ body parts from knees, spines, bones to skin without the knowledge or consent of family members to sell on the black market.
Setting her initial skepticism aside, Sam and Abby begin an investigation, which soon reveals that trafficking body parts illegally harvested from the dead is, in fact, a thriving and lucrative, underground business driven by a growing demand for human bones and tissue—and is happening at the mortuary where Abby works.
Their undercover investigation exposes a corrupt mortuary, but who is involved in the clandestine operation remains shrouded in ambiguity. Determined to uncover the truth and hunt down those responsible, Sam and Abby continue their pursuit—despite that it leads the pair down a winding and sinister path of malevolence and malice, which ends up having dire consequences for everyone involved.

This is the 2nd sam church book I have read. I liked the story very much....the ending not so much lol hopefully loose ends will be tied up in the next one. While there isn't a huge amount profanity it IS there.... "F" word regularly by one character and a few GD there too. Would have given 5 stars without the foul language.Product details

Dead Wrong A Samantha Church Mystery Book 3 edition by Betta Ferrendelli Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
This is a well written book. It is the first in the series I have read, but brought me along for the ride. Positives were the quality of the expression and the simple plot which the author kept driving-it takes confidence to pare down your ideas and not throw too many extraneous details in because they seemed like a good idea. These positives outweighed one poorly written chapter (28) and the too obvious telegraphing of one plot twist toward the end of the book.
Recommended.
Betta Ferrendelli is one of the great Authors. I enjoy reading all her books. She has a way of writing that will make you feel you are in the place she is writing about. If you love mystery as much as I do. Her books are a must on your book list.
I gave this book four stars because I liked the storyline and the characters. I have not read the previous books. I didn't give it five stars because I am not a fan of stories that end with no real end. I want to know the outcomes. I like books with the same characters, but I need each book to be complete; no carryover.
Great story telling with strong characters mapped out without extraneous verbiage. Yes I love writing "extraneous verbiage" because it means the story flowed smoothly and I really enjoyed reading it. Trace needs punching really badly but since he's not a real philandering idiot I guess he's safe.
I didn't have any problems in catching up with most of this story even though I didn't read the first two novels. I enjoyed this novel and will continue with this series. I've started a lot of mysteries and given up 1/2 way through on some as I found them downright silly. I want a mystery to be a mystery and not a chuckle book. A reviewer mentioned the f work and I am happy to say that I don't remember that this book had that word in it. Thank goodness. There was some profanity but not a lot.
Another great book in this series! I wont go into the story line of this book as others have done so already. I will just say it is a fastpaced, action filled book just like the first two. You really wont want to miss reading this book as this is written by a very talented writer with a great imagination to put together a fantastic story....the only bad thing is you come to(that dreaded word to book lovers) the end! Can hardly wait for the next book! Betta, write fast!!
This is the last in the Samantha Church mystery series. Samantha is an investigative journalist who lost her job at the Denver Post due to her alcoholism. She lost custody of her daughter to her ex-husband for the same reason, and after her husband's death, her ex mother-in-law, who lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest, far from Sam's home in the Denver area, gained custody of Sam's daughter April. Sam now works at a small local weekly newspaper and is working towards regaining custody of her daughter. Maintaining her sobriety is primary for her. In this story she becomes involved in investigating problems at a local mortuary. Becoming friends with a young woman named Abby Love who works at the mortuary and is her confidential informant. I won't going to details because that would be to give away the plot, but if you are squeamish please do not read this book. It is well done and worth reading if you truly love unusual stories.
